This one isn’t done yet but it’s getting there. With all the humidity and rain I have been literally watching paint dry! My paintings are also available at Saatchi.com and I was recently accepted by and am currently populating Artmajeur.com with my paintings. I am really excited about Artmajeur.com because it has the ability to showcase my process with video and extra photos of my work in progress! Feel free to use my contact page with questions about purchasing any of the paintings you see here, or on Instagram, or on the Saatchi or Artmajeur site.

This painting was inspired by Adele Sypesteyn’s work. I’ve really been enjoying learning new things in Nick Wilton’s Creative Visionary Program and a classmate shared Adele as a resource and I’m enjoying playing with the many layers. The first layer of this painting is a Raw Umber which is a dark brown color which, along with some other “seasonings” adds the depth and richness to the lighter colors. The music playing in my studio these days is the smooth Bossa Nova and samba rhythms of João Gilberto Station on Sirius XM. I like to change it up from time to time but right now this fits!

As a therapist (and a human) I use words all day! Between writing, speaking, and listening I feel like words are swirling all around me. Painting lets me use a different part of my brain to communicate when my words are all used up.

More studio notes to come. Things get kind of wild in the studio sometimes! Do you want to see a photo of some ugly duckling beginnings of paintings or the 10,000 bottles of paint I have out when I working on a series of paintings? Let me know and stay tuned!
